When these terms apply

These terms apply when you ask Safe Possum Control for a quote or book possum removal, proofing, trapping or dead possum removal anywhere in metropolitan Melbourne. Booking a job means you accept them.

Nothing in these terms reduces your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Prices and quotes

Prices on this website are starting prices and are shown with the word "from". What your job costs comes down to the roof, how many entries it has and how much sealing it takes.

• Your price is fixed before a ladder goes up
• A quote is based on your description plus our inspection of the roof
• Anything new found on the roof is shown to you, and nothing extra happens until you approve it
• Callouts are free across greater Melbourne
• Prices include GST

Bookings

Bookings run seven days a week, and a same day visit is often possible where the schedule allows. Arrival times are estimates, and we ring ahead when delayed.

Moving or cancelling a visit? Give us as much notice as you can.

Access and safety

To do the job safely we ask you to:

• Give us access to the roofline, and to the roof space through a manhole where agreed
• Tell us about dogs, locked gates and anything that affects ladder access
• Keep pets and children away from ladders and work areas
• Tell us if an area has damaged wiring, asbestos or another known hazard

We may reschedule if a roof cannot be worked on safely, for example in heavy rain or strong wind.

Wildlife

We follow Victorian wildlife law. Possums are never taken off your property. Any possum that is trapped is released on the same property, within 50 metres of where it was caught, after sunset on the day of capture. Ringtail possums are not trapped without an authority from DEECA, and possums living outdoors are not trapped.

The one-way door and return visit

Where a one-way door is fitted, it normally stays in place for three to seven nights. We return to remove it and seal the final entry. The return visit is included in the quoted price.

Guarantee

Each entry point we seal is covered for 36 months. If a possum gets back in through a sealed entry during that time, we return and fix it at no charge.

The guarantee does not cover new entry points in other parts of the building, damage caused by storms, roof work or other trades after our visit, or entries you chose not to have sealed. We will always quote those before doing any work.

Payment

You pay once the work is complete, with no deposit to book. Bank transfer, card and cash are all fine.

Our responsibility

Every job is carried out with proper care and skill, and the consumer guarantees set by the Australian Consumer Law cannot be signed away.

Where the law permits, we are not liable for possum damage that existed before we arrived, or for issues caused by ignoring our advice.
